Licensed Veterinary Technician:
This position is full time and requires Saturday work. A valid WA Veterinary Technician License is required.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Addressing client concerns and answering them appropriately during visits, updates, or after hospitalization; provide nursing care to stable patients according to hospital standards of care and core values; administer injections, IV or SQ fluid therapy; intubation and extubation and how to appropriately monitor post-operative patients; performing all in-house laboratory diagnostics and submitting out-house laboratory samples; calculate basic medical math; understand classification of commonly-used medications, associated side effects and appropriately monitors therapeutic response; using PM software to maintain client and patient records; administering medications via appropriate routes and duration; preparing medications and patient for discharge, and communicating discharge instructions to client; assistance as needed or instructed with patient care, cleanliness, and restraint.
The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of clinical experience.
Knowledge of Avimark is a plus. The candidate will be familiar with pet behavior, fear-free techniques, self-motivated, enthusiastic, compassionate, detail-oriented and possess excellent communication skills-- both verbal and written. You will use your communication skills, problem solving skills, and ability to multitask in a busy environment to respond quickly and calmly during stressful situations.
